Apple Cider Vinegar for Hair

My Overnight Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Treatment

Before starting, I gathered a few essentials:

  • Raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (with the “mother”)
  • A spray bottle for easy application
  • A shower cap to lock in moisture
  • An old towel to protect my pillow

Step 1 – Diluting the Vinegar

Since ACV is acidic, I mixed it with water in a 1:1 ratio to make it gentle enough for my scalp.

Step 2 – Applying to Hair and Scalp

I sprayed the mixture evenly from roots to ends, then gently massaged my scalp to improve absorption.

Step 3 – Covering Overnight

With my shower cap on, I went to bed and let the vinegar work overnight.

The Next Morning: What Happened

When I woke up, there was only a faint vinegar smell. My hair wasn’t sticky or greasy. After rinsing with lukewarm water and using a mild shampoo, I was surprised by the results:

  • My hair felt softer, smoother, and shinier
  • Frizz was reduced, giving a sleek finish
  • My scalp felt clean and itch-free
